Compassion & Choices of Washington (C&C) is the only organization of its kind that upholds the rights of terminally ill adults to all options at the end of life.  We do not charge a fee for our services, but rely on tax-deductible, charitable contributions from individuals and foundations who are dedicated to expanding the rights of terminally ill adults.

Friends of C&C of Washington are individuals who support our work through tax-deductible contributions and planned giving.  C&C of Washington is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and all contributions are tax-deductible.  Our EIN is 91-1412987.

All records of contributions are confidential.

Ways to Give

The easiest way to give to C&C is through your check or credit card.  (You can use the Paypal link at the top of this page to make credit card contributions to C&C.)  However, there are many other ways to contribute to Compassion & Choices of Washington:

  • Pledge.  You can give a monthly pledged gift to C&C.  Many of our supporters like the ease of pledging and find they can give larger amounts by spreading their gift throughout the year.  This convenient option also saves paperwork and processing expenses, and helps us with our budget planning. Contact the office if you would like to set up a monthly pledge.
  •
  • Gifts of Stock.  We can accept stock contributions through our broker, First Washington.  Our broker is Steve Jones.

  •
  • IRA Contributions.  If you are 70 ½ years or older, you can make a charitable contribution to C&C from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) tax-free.  This makes it possible to satisfy your required minimum IRA distribution without having to pay taxes.  If you are interested in this option, be sure to consult with your financial advisor to see if this is a good option for you.
  •
  • Employee Giving Programs.  C&C participates in several employee giving programs, including the Washington State Combined Fund Drive (charity # 0316183), and the King County Employee Giving Program (# 9161), and the City of Seattle Combined Charities program.  We can also receive contributions through United Way of King County.
  •
  • Matching Gifts.  Many employers also offer matches of gifts to nonprofits.  Contact your human resources department to find out if your company matches charitable gifts.
